Many Korean Christian lawyers have walked their ways faithfully in various fields.
They have tried to please the Lord at the personal level or to influence the society with the mind of Jesus Christ through various organizations such as Society of Christian Legal Profession, Christian fellowships in each level of courts and prosecutor's offices, Christian Lawyers Fellowship, Christian Legal Center, Christian Fellowship at Judicial Training Institute, Christian Fellowships of every law school. Further to this, some Christian lawyers established Christian law firms, which are currently becoming the
main source of various Christian lawyer's activities.

To our regret, we have realized that in front of us we see so many undeveloped lands that wait our vigorous efforts to cultivate. At this sight, we were so discouraged that we felt that we were useless to do the job. We expect that Asia Christian Lawyers' Leadership Conference will be a good chance to overcome such frustration and to
refresh our mind and then to vigorously achieve what the Lord wants us to do in this
new millennium.

Bearing this in mind, we decided the themes of this conference.

  
   
  Mission through the Law-open the door of mission through international networking

1. Networking among Asian Christian lawyers
2. Establishment of calling as a Peacemaker in legal field
3. Building of united common foundation among Christian organizations and lawyers in a national level

Two main points will be emphasized in this regard:
First, visualization of mission through the law is important

While another professional field such as medical profession has built firm foundation of perception of medical mission by the proper use of their professional skill for mission, only few knows the fact that there are relations between law and mission. Samuel E. Ericsson of Advocate International is one of the people who knows this and he properly challenged us how Christian lawyers can take part in mission as lawyer. At this conference, everyone invited from many different Asian mission fields will have personal relationship with Korean Christian lawyers. Even after the conference, Korean Christian lawyers will continue to contact the Asian guests to share the faiths and to help each other. We have already known that the fellowship with lawyers in real mission fields can be such an important key to open the door of gospel. Many Christian lawyers will be invited with recommendation through Christian organizations.
It will be very important to support them and keep the relationship with them, who are leader and elite to lead their countries in an important position.

Secondly, this conference will provide the spirit of unity among national Christian organizations and make it possible to hold 'annual national Christian lawyers leadership Conference'. The big problem that many Christian organizations experience was that they do not know what to do when they gather together. They do not have a clear vision. Through some workshop sessions during the conference, we will deal with this problem deeply.
